Activated Carbon Adsorption

Envanio’s activated carbon adsorption is based on the physical adsorption process to purify industrial process air of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) from industrial exhaust air, with the option for solvent recovery. In our regenerative systems, both the adsorbent and solvents are recovered for reuse, while in non-regenerative systems, the spent activated carbon is safely disposed of or replaced along with the captured pollutants.

Low-Maintenance Design

Thanks to very high destruction efficiencies of up to 99.9%, the Envanio system ensures compliance with strict environmental regulations and emission limits.

Custom Designs

We design and manufacture fully pre-assembled, skid-mounted units tailored directly to your site-specific operational requirements.

Solvent Recovery

With our regenerative activated carbon adsorption systems, up to 99% of captured solvents can be recovered and returned to production, driving greater profitability and lowering raw material costs.

Adsorptive Recovery of a Wide Range of Solvents

ProcessAdsorption (Regenerative System)
Air Flow Rate1,000 Nm³/h to 1,230,000 Nm³/h*
Solvent Concentrationup to 10 g/Nm³
Exhaust Gas Temperaturemaximum 40 °C
Exhaust Air Humiditymaximum 55%
Destruction Efficiencyup to 99%
Typical Target PollutantsEthylacetate, Toluene, Methylene Chloride, Eptane, Halogenated Hydrocarbons, Pentane

Each system is custom-designed based on your requirements and processes.
* The maximum air flow rate depends on the number of activated carbon beds and can be scaled as needed.

How Our Activated Carbon Adsorption System Works

Non-Regenerative Systems as a Cost-Effective Alternative

For applications with total annual emissions of less than ten metric tons, non-regenerative activated carbon adsorption systems offer an economical, low-capital solution. Our non-regenerative activated carbon adsorption systems effectively remove trace amounts of diverse pollutants from exhaust air, ranging from volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) to solvents, odors, and hydrogen sulfide (H₂S). Once the carbon bed is fully saturated, it is exchanged for fresh activated carbon. These systems are available as single units or pre-assembled skids to minimize installation time and on-site commissioning.
