Following several acquisitions over the years, the company was first acquired by Babcock and Wilcox in 2017 and then by Dürr the following year. Today, the brand is known not only for its industrial silencers and filters, but above all for the comprehensive retrofitting of inlet and outlet systems for gas turbines in power plants to reduce noise. [All Products](https://www.envanio.com/us-en/noise-control-and-air-filtration/products) The Envanio Story with Dürr Roots ----------------------------------- 1968 Dürr founded the “Environmental Technology” business unit to enable clean production in the automotive industry. 1970 Dürr implements the first thermal air pollution control system for the automotive industry. 1970 to 1980 Additional industries (chemical, printing, and coatings) and markets (Europe and the U.S.) are entered. 1980 to 1990 The first regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO) is developed. The company also enters the Asian market. 1990 to 2000 The independent “Environment and Energy Systems” division is founded. In addition, the U.S. companies Reeco and Engelhard are acquired. 2000 to 2010 Locations in Italy, China, South Korea, Brazil, and India are opened. 2013 Luft- und Thermotechnik Bayreuth GmbH (LTB), based in Goldkronach, Bavaria, is acquired and integrated into Dürr’s environmental technology division “Clean Technology Systems.” 2015 Dürr Cyplan Ltd., which had been 50% owned by the Dürr Group since 2011, becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of the Dürr Group. 2016 KBA-Clean Air (KBA) is acquired and integrated into Dürr’s “Clean Technology Systems” environmental technology division at its Bietigheim-Bissingen location. 2018 The industrial environmental technology business of the U.S. company Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises, Inc., comprising the companies MEGTEC and Universal, is acquired and integrated into Dürr’s “Clean Technology Systems” environmental technology division. 2025 Dürr AG sells 75% of its shares in the “Clean Technology Systems” division to a subsidiary of Stellex Capital Management LLC. At the same time, the Group acquires a stake of approximately 25% in the environmental technology division. The independent company Dürr CTS GmbH is established. 2026 The renaming of Dürr CTS GmbH to Envanio GmbH is completed.
